Envy x360 Convertable

So I've had my envy for around 18 months and whilst converting to tablet the bottom left hand clip has begun to come apart and the subsequently the glue has failed, causing the screen to come away and crack.

I have found many consumers reporting EXACTLY the same problem with this model however when I contacted HP they denied responsibility telling me it is not a manufacturer's fault and it is out of warranty, when clearly due to the number of others reporting the same problem, it is a common fault and the laptop is not fit for purpose.

To make matters worse, when I refused a quote to have the faulty screen replaced at my own cost, I was passed over to HP Customer Relations and what a further disappointment that was! I provided two telephone numbers to be contacted on (landline and mobile) and ensured I was available at the time agreed, however I received an email to say the rep had tried without success to reach me. I provided alternative times and again waited for a call, but none came and then I received an email saying it is damage and not a manufacturer's fault, the rep had closed my case and I would not be able to reply to the email!

This laptop cost me over £600, I am a student and a single mother and therefore shopped around and asked for recommendations before purchasing. For it to have lasted this short amount of time when it has been well looked after is incredibly disappointing and I have been totally put of HP and their products.
