HP Pavilion 13-an0066tu
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently received this laptop (HP Pavilion 13-an006tu). Everything is working as intended and I have installed Windows 11. There is a very obvious fingerprint scanner at the right side of the device, but when I go to set it up, it says "This option is currently unavailable," and "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint." This problem has persisted before and after I installed Windows 11. I have checked and there are no new items or drivers to update. I have tried going to device manager and searching for biometric devices, and enabled show hidden devices, but I can't find it. I have also tried opening services.msc and enabling the recommended stuff, but it still refuses to work. If anyone here knows how to solve my problem that would be amazing.

Hi @EuniceMaynice,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Your unit is not compatible with your current OS Windows 11 as it shows drivers for Windows 10 only.

You may check this link to find the drivers by using the serial /product number.

You may have to wait until further updates.

However, perform the steps from this document and see if that helps.

If that does not fix the issue, I recommend you contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
