Here is the solution to resolve PCI Express Root Complex driver Issue Click here to view the instructions!

Hi everyone, I’m using an HP Victus laptop running Windows 11, and I’ve noticed a persistent issue where a flickering horizontal line appears at the bottom of the screen only when the refresh rate is set to 144 Hz. Interestingly, the line seems to mirror the top portion of the screen.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Updated BIOS to the latest version via HP Support

  • Installed the latest Intel and NVIDIA drivers

  • Ran HP Hardware Diagnostics — no hardware issues were detected

  • Confirmed the line does not appear in screenshots, which suggests it’s a hardware-level issue

  • Switching to 60 Hz completely resolves the issue

Has anyone else experienced this with their Victus (or similar models)? Could this be due to a subpar panel or ribbon cable issue? I’d love to hear if anyone found a long-term fix or had their screen replaced under warranty for a similar problem.

Appreciate any help or advice — thank you!

Maybe it is a 15.6" Victus. I have seen this problem several times on a common 144Hz screen - LM156LF2F by the non-existent manufacturer Nanjing CEC Panda (NCP004B). Try to identify your screen please.

@Laptopbg  Yes! it is a 15.6" Victus. My laptop screen's Hardware ID is MONITOR\AUO2992 and matching id *PNP09FF. I cannot afford to replace the display ribbon so I don't know what to do now 😞

AUO2992 is B156HAN08.4 - a standard gaming screen. It is not an often failing junk. Anyway, you need to replace it.

Why should you replace the ribbon cable? It is not related to the current problem.
