This issue has been fixed for me.

Client came in with a flickering screen when the touching the touchpad.

A firmware update on windows 11 Fixed this.

I forgot which one, maybe hp 15 or idk, but that solved the issues with this old system.

Hi @zombodotcom ,

Thanks for posting that follow-up and confirming the issue was resolved by a firmware update on your client's system running Windows 11.

While you don't recall the specific name, your feedback is very helpful. A flickering screen or blackout when touching the touchpad is often caused by an interaction issue between the touchpad controller (firmware or driver) and the video driver/power management system.

The update that fixed it was most likely one of the following, as they directly impact system interaction and stability:

HP System BIOS Update: The BIOS controls how the hardware components (including the touchpad and display) communicate and manage power states. A BIOS update often contains critical fixes for unexpected behavior.

Touchpad Firmware Update: Specific firmware for the Synaptics or Elan touchpad hardware can resolve glitches related to input and responsiveness that cause display interrupts.

HP System Event Utility / HP Framework: This software handles key system events and power state changes. An update to this utility could stabilize the communication between the touchpad and the display subsystem.

If you happen to find the specific update name in the future, please post it—it could save a lot of troubleshooting time for other users dealing with similar issues on older HP systems upgraded to Windows 11!
