I am getting high keyboard input lag whenever my CPU is under heavy load and no I do not have HP System Event Utility installed

Okay, it makes sense now, the high demanding app that you ran probably still left a residue of memory on your computer which would slow down the system including your keyboard hence the lag. So a system restart or even checking to see whether that app is closed properly in task manager will help to fix the problem.
Keep in mind that the lag may still happen again when that same app is being opened unless you try and clean your PC by the inbuilt PC maintenance system through disk defragmentation at least to remove residue files stuck on the system.

When CPU is overloaded, not just keyboard, everything should slower down or lag. Probably keyboard is the only one you notice

Hi, @Placeholder did you uninstall HP System Event Utility when you noticed the keyboard lag or it was not installed when you got the laptop?
I asked because someone had a similar issue here.
The person got it fixed by uninstalling HP System Event Utility and then closing the background process of the app.
