As far as I can see there is a fault with HP touchscreen laptops. I first got my problems with ghosting after a Windows update, but that may just have been a coincidence. I tried all the diagnostics, suggested fixes and online HP help, but nothing worked. The cursor just went round the screen in an uncontrollable fashion making the PC unusable.

Eventually I found the suggestion to just disable the touchscreen driver via device manager and human interface devices. Relief ....no more ghosting. However, as the PC was still under warranty HP agreed to take it back and fix it, so I sent it in....unfortunately it came back with exactly the same fault....why they didn't test it I don't know.

Still it is ok until Microsoft do an upgrade then it resets the driver. This happened this week and made it almost impossible to get into the PC and turn off the driver again....so I am a bit worried about when it will go wrong again and next time it will be unusable.

I have had loads of touchscreen devices smartphones and tablets and never had this problem with any other device. So unless HP can fix this and reassure me it won't happen again I will never buy an HP PC again and if I do it definitely won't be a touchscreen one:-(

NONE of these worked and there is not even a link for touchscreen or ANY SOLUTIONS. The virtual agent is a joke. HP is inferior and a waste of money. This is killing my college career because of your product. I dont have money for a new laptop after your crap was bought.

The only thing that worked for me is to turn off the touch screen. To do this you search for "device manager" then select "human interface device" then "HID-compliant touch screen" and disable the device.
