This is the second time I noticed in a few days since I bought a new HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14-dw0520na, that the screen all of a sudden goes black an white lines appears. It is hard to describe so I have attached a picture. This stops when I move the cursor.

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-

Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

 -

Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

 -

Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
 -

Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
 -

Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hi @KrazyToad, thank you for replying to my post.
I check for updates regularly, that's kind of my fixation eheh However, I went back to check if there were new ones available from the HP Support Assistant and the only ones I found were for the Bluetooth and WLAN, which I now completed.
I doubt they have something to do with the flickering screen. Also, sometimes the screen flashes black for less then a second.
Today, it turned black 3 times without a reason.

Please run an extensive system test and let me know if the screen goes black during the Test
- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.

Hi @KrazyToad, I have done as you suggested. The system did not detect any fault during the extensive test. It could be a good sign but at the same time I don't know if it's better to wait and eventually exchange the product in case something is wrong. I would also like to mention that after the computer restarted, I logged into my account and when I returned to the computer a blue screen error appeared and the computer restarted.

Since all the Test passed, I suggest you perform a Reset and then run the HPSA again
