Was using my laptop just fine and then the screen went black - could not get it to work again. I have an external monitor which works, laptop works fine, even face id's to enter my profile.

 

Kicker - this happened a few week ago, which I assume was due to an update I just can not determine which one. I reinstalled Windows 11 and my laptop screen worked again. I am trying to avoid doing so, I rolled back updates from a few days ago, I can not tell that anything was updated today and as I said I was working on it and it just turned black.  I checked driver in device manager - shows no update, and I even disabled and restarted, ect. I go to monitor and only detects the external screen, says everything is up to date - HELP please! 

 

I have the P Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-eaoxxxx Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics - 

 

I do know that I did not have the Visual C++ installed and needed to install that to run my VPN, aside from hat it's the only recent change after I reset my laptop - which again made my screen work! I'm 100% its a software/driver issue.

Try updating using the intel support assistant

If you have the iris graphics chip then this is the latest driver

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html

Thank you - I don't know anything about chips, but I have the iris Xe  but I tried to do the update for it and it still did not work. What's worse is the HP only shows the 21H2 version but I'm on 23h2 so the drivers there aren't working for me!
