Hi,

I have a HP ENVY x360 laptop; the laptop had a HD Webcam + Dual Mic installed in the computer. I found out yesterday that the webcam is not found in my computer. When I clicked camera a black screen appeared saying "We can't find your camera" with an error message 0xA00F4244<AnCamerasAreAttached>. I've resetting my computer and that did not work. The last time my camera worked was last month. I'm trying to located the driver for my camera so I can install it, but I'm having a problem trying to install the driver. If any one can help me with this problem.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • Have you tried reinstalling the webcam driver manually?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open the HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Next step run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

I have a HP ENVY X360 Convertible 15-dr0xxx and I also have this problem. I followed the steps you provided but my camera still cannot be found.

Furthermore, the fingerprint scanner also does not work. When I go to sign-in options, under the fingerprint, it says "This option is currently unavailable." I have been able to previously use the fingerprint.

These problems seem to have appeared after an update. How can I fix both of these problems? Thank you.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform a system restore

Here are the steps:- Click here

Create a new user account and check if that works

  1. On the Start screen, move the mouse pointer to the lower-right corner to open the Charms menu, and then click Settings.
  2. Select Change PC settings in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Accounts.
  4. Click Other accounts.

Refer this HP document for more steps:- Click here

I hope that helps.
