Hello everyone,
I am facing an urgent issue that I need help with. I’m trying to connect my laptop to an external monitor via HDMI, but I’m encountering a black screen. The connection seems to attempt multiple times; I hear the sound for a second, but then it disconnects and tries again, repeating this process continuously. You can see the issue in this video: Video of Issue.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- I have a Quadro P1000 and have already updated the drivers to the latest version.
- The laptop detects the monitor, and in the Control Panel, it shows that the sound output is set to the monitor.
- When I switch to use the monitor as the only display, it disables my laptop screen and makes it black.
- I rebooted the laptop while it was connected to the monitor.
- I’ve reconnected the HDMI cable multiple times from both the laptop and monitor sides.
- I’ve tested the cable and monitor on another laptop, and they are working fine.
Any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. It's very important for me to get this working.
Thank you in advance!

Manual of your machine
https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06048523.pdf
It has ONE HDMI port at its right side. What is your monitor ? Does your monitor work with a different machine ? How often do you use HDMI port on your notebook ? By the way, how OLD is your monitor ?
Regards.
