Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In a hotel room trying to connect laptop to panasonic tv in the room. hooked up hdmi cable to the input on the tv, get a green screen and the sound only. any advice? my other laptop is just plug and play.

Have you tried power-cycling the TV?  Actually unplug the AC and let it sit for a couple minutes, then plug it back in and power it on. Also try a different HDMI port if avalable, and a different HDMI cable if available. If this TV auto-senses the HDMI port, try manually selecting the correct port using the TV menu.

 

Another possibility: How old is the TV? Maybe the TV's HDMI version is pre-HDCP, which is used for copyrighted/protected material.

 

Lastly, maybe it requires a manual selection from the graphics options. Right click on the desktop and select your graphics card settings option. If it shows that an external monitor is connected, play with those settings a bit.

I tried them all, so very dissapointed... was in my hotel room for 3 days and had a green screen. any other ideas?
