I recently performed a factory reset on my HP Victus Gaming Laptop (model: 16-r0002nia) by reinstalling Windows 11 using a bootable pendrive from the official Microsoft website. While this resolved my initial issue, my HDMI port has stopped working since the reset.
I've been using this laptop for a few months, and the HDMI port was working perfectly before the reset. Here’s what I’ve already checked: HDMI The cable is fully functional, The monitor works correctly with other devices, The port was working perfectly before the new installation , All drivers are up to date. and other basic things. I use the HDMI port to connect a second monitor, which is no longer being detected.
Laptop Details:
Model: HP Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r0002nia (7Z6U3EA)
Windows 11 (24H2 Home Edition)
I’ve attached pictures of my BIOS settings, in case there’s any issue you find?

Hi @Sadek008
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
It sounds like you've done a thorough job troubleshooting the HDMI issue on your HP Victus after the factory reset. Here are some additional steps you can take to try to resolve the HDMI port problem:
Check Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
- Scroll down to "Multiple displays" and see if the second monitor is detected. You might need to click on "Detect" to force the system to look for external displays.
Graphics Settings:
- Open your graphics control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel, Intel Graphics Command Center, or AMD Radeon Software, depending on your GPU).
- Ensure that the external display is set up correctly and check if any settings need adjustment.
Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and make sure your system is fully updated. Sometimes additional updates can fix hardware compatibility issues.
Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the "Display adapters" section and right-click on your graphics driver to update it.
- Also, check under "Sound, video and game controllers" for any issues related to HDMI audio output.
Roll Back Drivers:
- If the problem started after a driver update, you can try rolling back to a previous version. Right-click on your graphics driver in Device Manager, select "Properties," then go to the "Driver" tab and click "Roll Back Driver."
System Configuration:
- Sometimes, a clean installation can cause system configuration issues. You might want to check for any hidden devices in Device Manager. In Device Manager, click "View" and select "Show hidden devices" to see if the HDMI output appears.
BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup).
- Look for any settings related to graphics or external displays and ensure they are enabled.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
