Hi @hibou-96,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HDMI connection issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check HDMI Cable and Port:

  • Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the Samsung TV and the HP Envy laptop.
  • Try using a different HDMI cable or connecting to a different HDMI port on the TV to rule out faulty hardware.

Select Correct HDMI Input:

  • Use the TV remote to switch to the HDMI port number that corresponds to the one your laptop is connected to. You might need to cycle through the options with the "Source" or "Input" button on the remote.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Make sure that your NVIDIA graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the official NVIDIA website and downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Adjust Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop of your HP Envy laptop and select "Display settings."
  • Ensure that the display is set to duplicate or extend to the TV. You might need to click on "Detect" if the TV is not automatically recognized.
  • Adjust the resolution settings if necessary to match the supported resolutions of the TV.

Check TV and PC Mode:

  • On some TVs, a specific HDMI port might be labeled for "PC" use. If available, try using that port as it might provide better compatibility.
  • Verify the TV’s settings to ensure that it is set to receive HDMI signals.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both the TV and the HP Envy laptop. Unplug them from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug them back in and power them on.

I hope this helps.

When your Samsung TV does not recognize the HDMI signal from your HP Envy with NVIDIA graphics, it usually points to either configuration or compatibility issues. Here are a few steps to resolve it:

  1. Confirm Input Source – Ensure the TV is set to the correct HDMI port. Many TVs will not auto-detect inactive ports.

  2. Update NVIDIA Drivers – Visit NVIDIA’s official website and install the latest graphics drivers for your HP Envy.

  3. Adjust Display Settings – On your laptop, press Windows + P and select either Duplicate or Extend. By default, some systems are set to “PC screen only.”

  4. Test HDMI Cable/Port – Switch cables or ports to rule out physical connection issues.

  5. Modify Resolution/Refresh Rate – Some TVs are unable to display certain high resolutions or refresh rates. Lowering the display resolution on your laptop before reconnecting may help.

Once the connection is established, you can enjoy a seamless viewing experience. For example, many users extend their setup with streaming apps such as Inat Box APK, which allows access to movies, live TV, and sports directly on a larger screen.
