HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello I have laptop HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx with product number 4LR36PA#ACJ. I have been trying to connect my laptop with an external monitor. But, unfortunately, it is not working at all. I am already using the latest graphics, audio, and BIOS drivers available for this model. I have already tried it with different refresh rate but it is not working. I also tried different HDML cables as well. I also tried to connect it with the number of other display monitors as well. But it is not working with any of the external display. Thanks

@Jin24 Welcome to HP Community!

Are you using any converter to connect HDMI to the monitor?

Also to confirm, these monitors work fine on other devices? If yes, try the below steps to fix the issues on this device:

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
  • Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphic drivers from this link: Click here after selecting the correct Operating system.

Also, Try tapping FN and F4 key to transfer the image from the computer to the monitor. (While the HDMI cable is connected).

Refer this article to further troubleshoot HDMI issues with your laptop regarding video issues. If there is no hardware issue with the computer, this should do the trick for you.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please. Please note that I am not overloading you with a lot of troubleshooting steps. Instead,

just like you, I am eager to ensure that the problem gets resolved. So I am providing you with more resources and information at your disposal to deal with the situation better.

Not sure what to do, I have never thought to use USB-C to output display, I was happy with using HDMI default port.

Had a bad luck and the port damaged and now i thought to use USB-C to HDMI adapter.

This has ended up with frustration, I bought a USB-C to HDMI hub which didn't work, then I purchased a relatively expensive option which is original HP USBC to HDMI adapter, which is also not working.

USB c port is charging well to my ipad, its can connect a USB flash drive with the hub i bought before, but there is no display output. Its my 3rd day to investigate and use different troubleshooting steps, none has worked.

I tried USB-C as well, it didn't work for me either.

I gave up attempting to make it work.

Alternatively I tried USB 3.0 to HDMI and it has worked for me.
