Hi,

I have an HP ENVY Laptop - when I first connect HDMI to the laptop and TV everything is ok, but once the screen shuts down (e.g., when computer sleeps or after restart) there is no more output of the HDMI. The TV (Samsung smart TV) identified that the connection is there (Shows it as source) but indicates as if the connection is off (small red power icon) and says "no source" when I try to use it.

I tried updating to the latest drivers - currently I can only use HP drivers ... when I try to use intel latest drivers (The graphic card is intel) it prompts "can't work on this operating system" (???).

I tried changing the cable just in case but that didnt work as well

Any thoughts? this is really annoying 🙂

Looks like your setup is to use the TV as a mirror of your main screen therefore it will switch off as your laptop screen. Please try

  • Right click battery icon
  • Select Power options,
  • Select Choose what closing the lid does from the left side panel of the window.
  • Under When I close the lid option, choose Do Nothing and click on Apply and Ok.
  • Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
