After an update from Windows 8 to Windows 10, my touch screen stopped working. Clearly this is a very common problem that has afflicted countless Windows users who did the same thing. Does HP have a solution for reinstalling HID- Compliant Touch Screen driver? There's tons of reported fixes on the Internet but the few that looked reasonably safe to me, haven't worked and "HID - Complaint Touch Screen" is no where to be found in Device Manager as it used to be.
On a side note, I have another identical HP notebook that survived the upgrade and works fine.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA

You can try to use troubleshooting to automatically fix it at first. This may help to scan your hardware error and then fix it.
Of course, check the windows update, maybe it can find the touch screen driver and install it for you.
And also, you can use some driver scanner software to scan your computer, it will help to recommend the right driver. From this page, you can learn more about what is HID touch screen and how to solve it: https://www.driverdr.com/windows10/fix-hid-compliant-touch-screen-driver-issue-after-upgrade-to-wind...
If there is no windows 10 drivers, you can install the latest drivers with compatible mode. Find the solution from here: https://www.driverdr.com/windows10/install-compatible-windows-7-8-drivers-on-windows-10/

I upgraded my HP Pro 610 tablet from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. All seemed to go as expected, the tablet ran just fine. After 6 months, the I2C HID driver, that controls the touch screen didn't start and failed with an error code 10. I have been reset and reinstall windows 10 twice and accordingly install driver too but same issue
Is there any solution to this problem? . No driver update available from microsoft.

Never worked for me! Have been trying this since too long and also tried reinstalling windows couple of times nothing worked and finally my windows CD was spoilt and got stuck in bios I had to order for new RCD but HP foaled to send the right cdfor my laptop after complaining many times they agreed that they sent the wrong cd and they sent a new 1 which is worst then the previous CD so many drivers won't work and it has the same issue
