Hi @nihal12131313,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reinstall the HID-compliant touch screen driver on your Windows computer, follow these steps.
Using Device Manager
Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager" from the menu.
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- In the Device Manager window, click on the "Action" menu at the top.
- Select "Scan for hardware changes." This should prompt Windows to detect the missing touch screen and automatically reinstall the necessary driver.
Update Driver Software:
- If the driver does not reinstall automatically, locate "Human Interface Devices" in the Device Manager.
- Look for any device with a yellow exclamation mark or one that mentions a touch screen.
- Right-click on the device and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software." Follow the prompts to install the driver.
Using Windows Update
Open Settings:
- Press Win + I to open the Settings app.
Check for Updates:
- Go to "Update & Security" and then select "Windows Update."
- Click on "Check for updates." Windows will search for available updates, including drivers, and install them.
System Restore
If the above methods do not work and if the touch screen was working before the driver was uninstalled, you can try performing a system restore to revert your computer to a previous state where the driver was installed.
Open System Restore:
- Press Win + R, type rstrui.exe, and press Enter.
Choose a Restore Point:
- Follow the prompts to choose a restore point from a date before you uninstalled the touch screen driver.
Restore Your System:
- Confirm your restore point and let the system restore process complete. This will not affect your personal files but will revert system settings and drivers to the state they were in at the selected restore point.
After trying these methods, your HID-compliant touch screen driver should be reinstalled, and your touch screen functionality should be restored.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
