Hey y'all,
Bit of a strange situation. I had been deploying G2 docks for a long time but noticed the newer G5 model. I set up a user at my company with the HP G5 USB-C dock. Everything works except the displays. Any monitor I plug into the dock will show up in device manager with detailed information on the monitor, but the screen will remain black / blank regardless of any display settings I choose.
All of the monitors work fine when I plug them directly into the laptop HDMI port, but none of them work when I plug them into the G5 dock. The G5 dock is plugged into a HP EliteBook 1040 G6 x360 model. I tested both of the USB-C ports on the laptop, same issue on each one.
Power cycled the laptop and dock. Tested 3 different monitors, all HP brand. Updated windows. Updated graphics drivers. Downloaded the displaylink drivers for the 1040 laptop from the hp website. Tested different resolution settings on the monitor. Disabled it in display settings then re-enabled it. Nothing works!
Any ideas would be great. Thanks!
