HP 15 DW0XXX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this laptop and cannot get it to recognize a second external monitor.  I've tried everything from update the graphics to downloading the latest firmware.  I am using a USB-C device to connect the second monitor and although the device works for my wireless mouse the laptop will not recognize the monitor that is connected to the device.  I know the monitor and cable work as I've connected them to my Dell, then unplugged from Dell and connected to HP with no luck.

Any advise on what to do next?

What is your HP 15 DW0XXX  ? It should have same ports of the following machine

                 HP Notebook - 15-dw0037wm

It ONLY has 1  USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors, you can use

M1: HDMI direct cable

M2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

               https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                        True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.
