Thanks Sumit,  for verifying that it is isolated to being the display cable. Now that I have this solution I don't mind. peeling the laptop apart. I haven't seen the screen in six months, so I'm pretty stoked about it. My apologies to everyone if for whining. My gratiude to Parvez and all the other HP Experts. Till next time.

For Dim display issue if you use a flash light and point it on the screen you'll actually see the screen behind....And for display cable failure there will be no display or blurry..lines etc..


@parvez_tech When flashing the light on the black screen, I was able to see it, although it was very dim, So, what do i need to do in order to fix the screen?
