HP Pavilion
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Is HP 20KD monitor compatible with an HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 10 Home version 21H1?

I am using an HDMI to VGA connector for the laptop. In "Advanced display settings," it states Display 2 (HP 20kd) isn't active. It also states that Display 2 is "Connected to AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics."

Please help!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you tried with different cables or ports? Your monitor input methods are 1 VGA 1 DVI-D

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you so much for responding! I only have an adapter for HDM1 to VGA, so that's the only cable I've tried; however, I have an update. The monitor works when I select "Duplicate these displays;" however, it doesn't work when I have the extend, show only on 1 or 2 selected. (I really need the Extend option.) When I select Extend, the monitor gives me the following message:

"Input Signal Out of Range!

Current Mode: H = 67.7kHz, V=60HZ

Change Mode to 1440x900 60Hz"

My display resolution is set to 1440x900, so I am not sure what else to try.

Unfortunately, my warranty expired, but thank you anyways. Hopefully I can figure it out soon.
