HP 2309M
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, my son wants a monitor for his laptop for Xmas. I connected my old HP2309M Monitor to the laptop (medion erazer crawler e10) to show my wife how it would look and for my son to try it out. I could not get the display on the laptop to look the same on the monitor. The screen appearing oversized, which meant I could not access certain functions (e.g. close app / browser, back buton etc.). I've attached a photo which I hope shows the problem, where some of the icons are 'off screen'.

I tried the laptop with my Gigabyte 27inch monitor and did not experience any issues.

Googling suggets a monitor can't be 'not compatible' but wondering if I'm going to get the same issue with any new monitor (don't want my son to have the issue on Xmas day!) or if it's simply because this is an old monitor.

Any knowledge to confirm I won't have similar issues with a new 23/24 inch monitor, or advice on how to remedy it with the HP monitor?

How do you connect it . I don't know which video port(s)  on the Medion machine

I expect it should have HDMI port.

The monitor could be 12years old by now, you need its driver, please use driver from the following link

Hi, thanks but this download was incompatible with my operating system (W10 64 bit). The HP site doesn't appear to offer downloads for any W10 version.
