HP 24f 24-inch Display
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Windows 10 does not display supported resolutions by HP 24f, only 1024x768 and 800x600, see the screenshot. I tried to reinstall the display's driver multiple times but to no effect. The issue when monitor is connected via HDMI; VGA works without any problems with other notebooks.

Furthermore, when I tried to connect the display to a different notebook via HDMI, it says HDMI is inactive.

Do you know what could be the issue and a how to solve it?

My notebook's specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

Hi @Marbal,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your HP monitor resolution.

1) Rest the monitor to factory defaults: You need to open the OSD (On Screen Display) Menu by using the buttons located on the bottom right corner of the display.  You need to press the Menu button, then go to the Management section and initiate the factory defaults/reset option.

2) If the issue still persists, Try to replace the HDMI cable and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi Irwin6

Thank you for the advice. I have done the factory reset but the issue persists. Furthermore, I have tried a different HDMI cable, which I know works without any issues, but still I can only choose between 800x600 and 1024x768. Do you have any other suggestions?
