Ghosting started on my monitor, which I have been using for about 1.5 years, although it has not happened before. It happened 2 days ago after I installed the monitor's software. How can I delete it?

Hi @vViA,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing ghosting on your HP 24x 23.8-inch Gaming Display after installing the monitor's software, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Check Monitor Settings:
- Access the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu using the buttons on the monitor.
- Look for any settings related to response time, motion blur reduction, or overdrive. Adjusting these settings may help reduce ghosting.
Uninstall Monitor Software:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (on Windows).
- Locate the monitor software you installed and select Uninstall.
- Follow the prompts to remove the software, then restart your computer.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and downloading the latest drivers.
Change Refresh Rate:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings.
- Make sure your monitor is set to the correct refresh rate (e.g., 60Hz or 75Hz). Sometimes lower refresh rates can cause ghosting.
Check Cables and Connections:
- Ensure that the video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) is securely connected to both the monitor and the computer.
- If possible, try using a different cable or port to see if the issue persists.
Factory Reset the Monitor:
- In the OSD menu, look for an option to reset the monitor to factory settings. This can help restore default settings and may resolve the ghosting.
Test with Different Devices:
- Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to see if the ghosting persists. This can help determine if the issue is with the monitor or your computer.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit HP's support website and see if there are any firmware updates available for your monitor.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
