HP 470 17 inch G10 Notebook PC (772L2AV)

Hello - do you own an HP 470 G10 ?

If you do - and you are on BIOS F.07 or F.08 - do you connect to an external screen which is NOT 1920 X 1080 ?

Appreciate this is a reducing sub-set - but I have an issue with an HP 470 G10 which does not report the type of any external monitor connected to it - it simply reports as "generic PNP monitor" - and outputs video in the 16:9 ratio format - with 1920 x 1080 showing as "recommended"

I have connected a number of screens which DO NOT have 1920 x 1080 resolution - but the laptop only outputs at this resolution

It worked OK with BIOS F.06 - but F.07 and now F.08 appear to have borked it - I'm trying to work out if this is an issue with the BIOS(s) in general - or just with my machine

Thanks all

BUMP - There are now two of us with this issue

Therefore increasing evidence that it's an issue with BIOS F.07 and F.08

The Hemmersbach engineer who visited - on behalf of HP (many thanks) - told me that he was only an HP retained HARDWARE Technician - and does not support software issues ... however, when it's an issue in the BIOS - where does this sit ?
