The HP Active Pen G3 is an AES 2.0-only pen. It does not support AES 1.0 or AES 1.0/2.0. AES stands for "Active Electrostatic" technology, which is used for stylus input on touchscreens. AES 2.0 is an updated version of the AES technology, which offers improved accuracy, pressure sensitivity, and palm rejection over the earlier version.
The HP Active Pen G3 is designed to work with select HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3, HP Elite x2 G4, and HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 notebooks that have an AES 2.0 digitizer.
