HP Spectre x360 Convertible Model 13-ae089TU

When I try to write with my HP active stylus paired to my Spectre, it goes smoothly most of the time, until I try to clicked on the buttons for the eraser and to top button for the lasso select. The problem is, when I click on the eraser button and then use my pen after that (after releasing the eraser button) , the lasso select appears when I try to write, without even pressing any buttons during that time. So it kinda disturbs the fluency of my note taking because I when I try to write something really fast, the lasso select appears, instead of ink. Also, sometimes, when I write, my handwriting is sometimes not picked up by the laptop.

@tdsia00 Greetings from the HP Community!

If the pen does not write consistently while your fist or palm is touching the screen,

make sure the pen tip is 5mm or farther from the point where your hand is contacting the screen.

And if this happens after pushing a button, in your case the eraser button, could you check if the button remains stuck physically? If no, please update the firmware for the stylus by clicking here to download and install the same

Hi, my stylus is the normal stylus that came with the spectre, it's not the tilt pen. The link you provided was for the tilt pen. Could you provide the link for the normal stylus? Thank you

@tdsia00 I'm afraid there's no firmware for other stylus as such, that said, if the steps suggested didn't help nor did the link I mentioned earlier, we may be looking at a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

 

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
