HP Digital Pen doesn't function with HP Envy 17t

Purchased an HP Envy 17t Laptop recently.  Based on information from HP Support, order HP Pen (1MR94AA#ABL).  Downloaded HP Pen Control Software.  Nothing works.  If this is a Bluetooth Item, Laptop doesn't see it.  Touch screen works with finger.  Any ideas?

Which HP Envy 17t did you buy ? Did you check compatible list before buying HP active pen ? Please check the following list to select a right one.

I purchased HP Envy 17T-ae100 CTO.  Before purchasing the pen, I called HP Support and they verified the correct pen.  My Laptop is listed and I purchased Model 1MR94AA  910942-001 (Natural Silver).  Touch Screen works with my fingers.

Can you see Bluetooth service on your machine is on ? Please check its icon at the notification area. If yes, please download and install

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80343.exe

then reboot, it should connect automatically.

No, device not seen.  HOWEVER...  Discovered last night that the AAAA battery that came with this NEW pen this week is deader than a doornail!  Will purchase and test a new battery later this morning and try again.  Will post results asap.  Thanks for taking the time to reply to my case.

TURNS OUT BATTERY WAS THE PROBLEM.  EVERYTHING WORKS!!  THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME.
