Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

How can I connect my laptop HP ENVY x360 - 13-ag0002ns with two external display monitors?

Is there any hardware required for that?

Welcome to HP Support Community

This Notebook has the USB Type- C thunderbolt port which you can use to connect external monitors. Since you wish to connect 2 external monitors, then you will need a Splitter.

You can purchase it from any computer store

Hope this helps. 😊

Is with tha above splitter going to have a connection with two external monitors in "clone" desktop or "expanded" desktop envinronment?

As far I know this laptop has a USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 which is not a thunderbold port

The User Guide: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/product/hp-envy-13-ag0000-x360-convertible-pc/20270313/model/22425077/m... seems to be generic and if you do not see the Thunderbolt symbol on the USB type-C port, then it must be just a regular USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2

If your Notebook Model does not have the USB Type-C Thunderbolt, you will not be able to connect any external display

Actually the user guide is very specific as you can read from the below link:

https://support.hp.com/ca-en/product/hp-envy-13-ag0000-x360-convertible-pc/20270313/model/22425077/d...

showing the extrnal ports as follows:

1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 headphone/microphone combo.

Anyway,  does this mean that i cannot connect any external monitor even if I connect it with other devices such as a docking station?

@tdmko

If you do not have the Thunderbolt port you cannot connect any external monitors even if you use a docking station

So, in order to get things clear, you are saying that this particular  port USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4) of the laptop cannot tranfer display signal to extenar monitors?

@tdmko

My apologies for the confusion

As mentioned earlier, the User Guide: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/product/hp-envy-13-ag0000-x360-convertible-pc/20270313/model/22425077/m... on page 5 shows that this Notebook should be having the USB Type-C Thunderbolt

If you have the same port, then you should be able to connect external displays using the splitter or docking stations

Thank you
