Hi @CleanHearts,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
You're right to suspect the Intel Serial IO Driver (Ice Lake) as a key factor in your HP Envy x360 15 touchscreen and auto-rotate issues after upgrading to Windows 11. Here's how to fix it:
1. Install Intel Serial IO Driver (Windows 11 Compatible)
HP’s support site may only show Windows 10 drivers, but you can manually install the compatible version:
- Go to HP Drivers Page
- Enter your full model number (e.g., HP Envy x360 15-ed0008ca)
- Select Windows 10, then download:
- Intel Serial IO Driver
- Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver
- Right-click the installer > Properties > Compatibility tab
- Check. Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10
- Install and restart
This restores touchscreen and sensor functionality in many cases
2. Force Windows to Detect Touchscreen
If the HID-compliant touchscreen is missing in Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager
- Click View > Show hidden devices
- Click Action > Scan for hardware changes
- If still missing:
- Click Action > Add legacy hardware
- Choose Install hardware manually
- Select Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen
3. Restore BIOS Defaults
Sometimes touchscreen is disabled in BIOS after an OS upgrade.
- Restart and press F10 to enter BIOS
- Go to Advanced > Built-in Device Options
- Make sure Touchscreen is enabled
- Select Restore Defaults, then save and exit
4. Run UEFI Hardware Diagnostics
To confirm the touchscreen hardware is functional:
- Restart and press F2 to enter HP Diagnostics
- Run Component Tests > Touchscreen
If it passes, the issue is driver-related.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
