Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended

The HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-ee1xxx laptop has encountered a significant mechanical issue involving the left hinge. This problem arose during normal use when opening the laptop; a crunching noise was heard, followed by the dislodging of small plastic pieces and a screw. As a result, the screen now protrudes abnormally along the hinge line. The protrusion is more pronounced at the bottom and lessens towards the top quarter of the screen, which suggests that the hinge mechanism—integral to the laptop's ability to open and close smoothly—has failed, potentially affecting the alignment and structural integrity of the display assembly. This kind of damage is critical as it not only hinders the laptop’s functionality but also poses a risk of further damage to the screen and internal components if not addressed promptly. HELP this PC is otherwise functional, and the GeekSquad at Best Buy estimated a cost of $500. HP sucks with their bad hinges. Of course this happens as the warranty expires.
