Hello all!

I have been experiencing non responsive TouchScreen on my notebook.

Below are my notebook details and other screen shots. Need help to resolve this issue. Any input will be highly appreciated.

KrazyToad I have already tried that with no luck. If you refer to screenshots, I have a code10 for I2C HID device and missing HID-compliant Touchscreen, which I think is because I2C HID device is not starting.

I suggest you run the Touchscreen Diagnostic to confirm the Hardware Functionality.

 

  1. Restart the computer and repeatedly press the F2 key when the computer starts to open the HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI).
  2. Select Component Tests from the main menu.
  3. Select Touch Screen.

My laptop doesn't show Touch Screen in the component test.
It never did even when the touch screen was working .

We can perform a System Recovery to Factory Settings to eliminate any driver issues.

 

Note: Take a Backup of your computer.

 

- Turn off the computer.Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key about once every second until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.
- On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
- Under Help, click System Recovery.
- When Recovery Manager prompts you to back up your files, select a backup option:
- The Welcome to HP Recovery Manager screen is displayed. Read the on-screen information, and then disconnect any connected devices and cables, such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
- Click Next to continue.
- When recovery preparation is complete, click Continue to proceed to the installation phase of the recovery process. The computer restarts several times during the recovery. This is normal. Do not close, shut down, or disconnect the computer while HP Recovery runs.
- Recovery Manager reformats the Windows partition and reinstalls the original software.
- After the system recovery is complete, click Finish to restart the computer. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup.
- Once the setup is complete, turn off the computer, reconnect all devices and cables, and then turn on the computer.
- Before using the computer, update and protect your computer by reinstalling any virus and security software that was installed before the system recovery.
- Reinstall any software programs that were added after purchasing the computer, as well as any files that were backed up.

 

If the issue persists after the Recovery, please contact our Phone Support for Service Options.

Hey @KrazyToad

One problem, I have removed my standard HD from my laptop and replaced it with a solid state HD. Which means I have basically removed HP recovery partition. It would be very helpful of you if you could share a link from where I can download the recovery files for my laptop as I am in Pakistan and they only deliver HP recovery DVD or USB in the US and Canada

Since you do not have the Recovery Partition, please contact our Phone Support to order the Recovery Media.
