HP EliteBook 830 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

What is the maximum resolution HP EliteBook 830 G6 supports on external monitors?

I have a 4k monitor but its being limited much lower.

Monitor is a BENQ EL2870U and I am using the latest driver available from BENQ's website.

Hello

for sure 4K monitor is supported.

4K@ 30HZ on HDMI, 4K@60HZ via usb-c port if you have a dongle or a docking station with a HDMI 2.0 or DP 1.2 port.

bye

Dear TryToDoMyBest,

I agree with you, but i don't understand why Windows is limiting the resolution. It doesn't even show on the drop down menu.

I am using a dongle (USB C HUB) from AUKEY which also accepts 4k.

Any additional thoughts on how to remove this limit imposed by Windows?

Hello

in addiction to Microsoft display setting, you can install Intel Graphics app. in this app you can check the resolution and the frame rate.

like you , on the computer I'm using to write this post, I don't see in WIndows the resolution of externak monitor, either connected via HDMI port of the notebook or HDMO port of a USB-C Dock G5.

even more, despite this notebook has a OEM Windows 10 Pro  license ,  since two days I get the message to Activate Windows.  This means another bug in WIndows licensing mode !!!

Bye
