HP EliteBook 840 G3 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone! I have an HP Elitebook 840 G3 16GB RAM 14" Laptop and I'm trying to connect to an Omnistar L80 Projector. I have an HDMI cord that is too big for all of the ports on the right side of the laptop, and nothing goes in on the left side. I tried connecting via Bluetooth and it simply did not show up on the projector for the "Desktop" recognizable name of the HP on the Projector, and the Projector didn't show up on the HP as a source of connection either. I tried the USB-C connection and that didn't work, as that is the only USB connector I have at the moment. So, the HDMI cord I have, I'm assuming is a type A cable? being the biggest one? Question is, do I need a Type C HDMI Cord? or Type D? Does anyone have this exact laptop by chance? If so, what do I need to hook this up? I have pictures for reference. I've been trying to connect the HDMI into the portion of the left and the right side of the headphone jack, and my HDMI does not fit, which I believe people have said the port to the left of the headphone jack is the one that is supposed to be HDMI enabled. Is this correct?

Thank you so much!

Your projector ONLY has HDMI port and your computer has

You can use VGA port on the left side but you need a converter therefore the best option is to use DP port (red circle) on the right side, this port has ++ symbol that means it also carries sound. You then ONLY need one cable called DP to HDMI cable such as

There are many around, cheaper too (note: please do not use too long cable).

Regards.

Hello and thank you so much for the reply! Would this work from Amazon?
