The internal display is flickering and jumping, accompanied by some overlapping images. I have already updated the graphics driver and connected the laptop to an external monitor to check. The result shows there is no issue when connected to an external monitor. Only the internal display has this problem.

Since the issue is not repeated on the external monitor, this is not a driver issue as the same driver is used for both.

This means the screen is failing and needs to be replaced.

If this is out of warranty, HP does not do these kinds of repairs, so you would have to find a local laptop repair shop that will order the parts and do the repairs.  But be sure to get a full cost estimate up front because these repairs are very expensive -- often costing more than just replacing the laptop.
