HP Envy 17t u100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, my hp envy 17t-u100 is giving me a headache. As I power it on, the monitor is black but the pc is on. If I connect it to a monitor, the display is working just fine. In addition, as the Hinges are tight, the screen separated from cover wich caused some stipes. I need a screen replacement ASAP as I start  my studies next week.

Thank you

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

It seems to be a hardware related issue with the display assembly, as we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked without these issues?
  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen, which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello @Echo_Lake,

Thank you for your assistance.

All the drivers are up to date and the screen stays black when I power on my pc so I can't even get to the BIOS screen. So yeah It's a hardware issue, the problem is that I couldn't find the screen for this PC anywhere. Any suggestions?

Thank you again.
