macOS 10.14 Mojave

When display is connected to my macbook pro and using facetime there is no image displayed, it is blank even though the camera's white light is on and appearing to be working. The infared camera will display an image bu the HD camera will not.

Let's double check the setup:

To use the webcam, you need to connect the monitor to your computer using the included USB to monitor cable. Then your computer will be able to detect the webcam.

Yes monitor is connected with the supplied usb cable, computer has detected it as per my original message. White light is turned on the camera which suggests camera is on but there is no image appearing in facetime.
