Hi,
I've bought an Envy HP X360 15-eu0000 (267R8AV) and an HP E27d G4 QHD USB-C-Dokcing monitor.
I've already had an Asus PA278QV monitor.
Basic idea, install the envy in parallel to my large and energy consuming PC, using the same monitors for dual display setup. Utilizing either the PC or the Envy for remote working sessions from Home Office.
I've attached the Laprop through USB-C to the E27d G4 monitor, using the network attached to this monitor, use USB stuff attached to it (mouse, keyboard etc.), get power to the laptop, attach the second monitor through DiaplyPort and use the laptop in closed condition.
I've attached the PC through DisplayPort to E27d4 and added the KVM setting, to utilize USB-C port for USB connection to PC.
On both (PC and Envy) I've got issue to run the second monitor (Asus) properly. I need to start the PC or Envy by running just the E27d G4, having the Asus turned off. PC always appears on the HP monitor after start, but on Envy it does not always happen immediately and I need to switch th HP off/on again. In case the Asus is already on before switching PC or Envy on, both machines try to start display, but start squeezing every few seconds (at Envy to be seen at Laptop monitor, at PC the HP monitor shows this symptom). It is impossible to use the second (Asus) screen. Turning the Asus off and on after a few seconds many times but not always turns on the screen on both monitors.
I'd expected to turn on the monitors, start the PC or Envy and get a dsiplay on both machines as configured originally.
I've set the HP montior to act as "starter" in case of turning on for the Envy, seems to work only sometimes (could not find any conclusion on this). I've also configured the E27d G4 to switch off the Envy in case of turning off the monitor. This works perfectly but does not allow to switch it off to get the monitor being recognized by the Envy.
Unfortunately, I could not find any solution yet, changing the behaviour to what I'd expected. Any idea I would be pleased to get a feedback or suggestion.
Thanks and kind regards,
Joe
