Since your HP Envy x360 touchscreen stopped working after the Windows 11 24H2 update, follow these troubleshooting steps to restore touch functionality:
Check If Touchscreen Is Disabled in Device Manager
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices (HID).
- Look for HID-compliant touch screen.
- If you see it, right-click > Enable device (if disabled).
- If you don't see it, move to Step 2.
Show Hidden Devices
- In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
- Check if HID-compliant touch screen appears.
- If it does, right-click and select Enable.
- If it does not appear, move to Step 3.
Reinstall Touchscreen Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen.
- Select Uninstall device and restart your PC.
- Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
- If the driver does not reinstall, continue to Step 4.
Manually Install HP Touchscreen Drivers
Visit HP’s Driver Support Page:

Roll Back Windows Update (If Necessary)
If the touchscreen worked before the update, you can roll back Windows:
- Press Win + I > Windows Update > Update history.
- Click Uninstall updates.
- Locate the most recent Windows 11 24H2 update and uninstall it.
- Restart your PC.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
HP has built-in UEFI hardware diagnostics:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press F2 repeatedly.
- Select Component Tests > Touchscreen Test.
- If the test fails, it might be a hardware issue.
- If the test passes, then it's a software/driver issue—continue troubleshooting.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
- Go to HP Support.
- Download and install the latest BIOS and Chipset drivers.
- Restart your laptop.
