My fingerprint login stopped working after an update on windows 10 (I believe).  How can I get this working again?

@madlaw I have a few steps that should help:

Follow the below steps:

  • Update the BIOS
  • Enable biometric support
  • Check for Windows support
  • Clean the fingerprint reader
  • Update the device driver
  • Update the fingerprint reader software
  • Find new device drivers if you changed operating systems

Did you recently install any updates from Windows or HP?

If this is a recent occurrence, have you attempted a system restore to correct the issue by reverting to an earlier known working date?
