Hello everybody,
I had the same error on my Envy 13 too.
Fortunately, I found the solution at this website article. http://www.danantonielli.com/adobe-app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix/
Note: This works for all programs.
Step by Step Guide:
1. Download this file: (Right Click Save Link As..) ExternalManifestFile-REGISTRY-DanAntonielli.com.reg
2. Download this file: (Right Click Save Link As..) http://www.danantonielli.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/manifest.txt
3. Run the first file we download, if you see a warning message please click Run, you may scan this with your anti-virus if you are suspicious.
4. Now navigate to the folder where the .exe of the file you want to fix is, then copy and paste the second .txt file there and then rename it to "Replacethiswiththename ofexefile.exe.manifest" without the quotes, click yes in the "Are you sure you want to change it".
5. TADA! Open your program again and the problem should be fixed.
Note: All credit goes to Dan Antonielli for this fix.

Hi
I have the same problems spoken of. I have an HP Envy 13inch and most programs (word, Chrome)... are fine but others the text and tools are so small I can hardly see them. I'm on the suggested resolution of 3200 x 3000. I have tried dropping this but has no effect. Please help.

Greetings @DaveWardSA,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that some of the tools and text are very small for you to read. Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Request you open Settings Windows from the Windows button.
Select System and then display on the left side.
On the display settings window, you have a slider to Change the size of text, apps, and other items.
Request you use the Slider to increase the text and let me know if it helps.
If the issue persists, change the resolution to 1600x900 and check.
Let me know how it goes.

No, this is not the issue. I have had this issue on going too, and the support here seems to be variations on the same thing over and over. Please assume that we have a general level of competence with the simple aspects of the display setings. It has nothing to do with zooming in. It has nothing to do with native resolution. No one here bought their laptop just to castrate it by putting it's resolution to nothing. The issue is with adobe:
"When the apps load, Windows asks if the app is High DPI aware and these apps answer “yes”. Which is why you end up with an interface for ants."
I don't want to mess with the registry files. Please give a solution that actually works and that isn't some variation on zoom or effectively burning the money we spent on a hd display.

This didn't work for any of the four programs I tried it with. Some applications still open really small even after changing the screen resolution and using the manifest file. Did anyone find a resolution and why doesn't HP know how to fix it?

I just received my new HP Envy (Model 15M-BP011DX) yesterday and the issue with the resolution for software having blurry fonts still exists.
This laptop was supposed to be an upgrade for me, but with the display issues it is a serious downgrade. All of the programs I use frequently are displaying very blurry text, which is unacceptable.
I was on chat with HP support last night and the representative had remote access to my laptop and tried making adjustments, but nothing has fixed the issue. I tried the manifest fix, but that did not help either. I really don't want the hassle of returning this laptop and shopping for another so I'm really hoping to find a resolution to this issue immediately.

This has been my experience as well. I have yet to try the manifest thing, but I have an Envy also, so I don't see how it would work any better for me.
HP Tech Support doesn't seem to have any idea what to do, even though this should be a relatively routine question for someone with their expertise. I tried chatting and letting them take control over my screen. All the agent did was change the display settings, which I already tried. Then they told me to contact Smart Friend, which charges an additional fee to (maybe) fix the problem. Calling tech support is also futile in my experience, as they will tell you the same thing. Or, they'll tell you to call Microsoft and wash their hands of it completely
HP, this is a problem you need to fix. You're selling computers that aren't functional and alienating your customer base. Do what's right and give us a solution that actually works. Please.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I Understand the program screen are tiny,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you performed the steps suggested by the other HP tech?
If you have and yet the issue persists, here's what I recommend:
Using the steps suggested on the above link from the same thread, Increase the size of text to 200% automatically so that everything looks bigger on screen,
Alternatively, you can change just the text size of title bars, menus, message boxes, palette titles, icons, and tooltips individually. To do this, open Settings and go to System > Display > Advanced display settings > Advanced sizing of text and other items. This will open the Display window in the Control Panel. Under "Change only the text size," select the item you want to change and then pick the text size you would like (size 6 - 24).
If you only need parts of your screen to be bigger, and only occasionally, you can turn on Windows' Magnifier. To do this, open Settings and go to Ease of Access > Magnifier and turn the Magnifier on.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
