Hi @akshreli,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the touchpad on your HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop 13 has stopped working, here are some steps to troubleshoot and possibly fix the issue.
Check Touchpad Enable/Disable Function
- Function Key: Sometimes the touchpad can be disabled by accident using a key combination. Try pressing the Fn key + the touchpad icon key (usually F5 or F6) to enable the touchpad.
- Check in Settings:
- Go to Settings → Devices → Touchpad and ensure that the touchpad is enabled.
Update or Rollback Touchpad Driver
- Update the Driver:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on your touchpad driver (it might be listed as Synaptics or ELAN), and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Rollback Driver:
- If the touchpad stopped working after a recent update, you can try rolling back the driver.
- In the Device Manager, right-click the touchpad driver and select Properties.
- Under the Driver tab, choose Roll Back Driver (if available).
Check for Windows Updates
Make sure your system is fully updated:
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update, and check for any pending updates.
Reinstall Touchpad Driver
- Uninstall the current touchpad driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the touchpad driver and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer, and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
BIOS Settings
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during startup).
- Look for the Touchpad setting and ensure it is enabled.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices, including the power adapter.
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect everything and power it back on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
