Hello,
I have a HP Envy x360 Convertible laptop and an Acer ET322QR monitor.
I am using a HDMI cable to connect my laptop directly to the HDMI port on the Acer ET322QR monitor.
I have set my "Display settings" on my laptop to extend the display to the monitor.
Both my computer and laptop have their power ‘on’, however, I am unable to get the monitor to display from my laptop.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem, please?
Or is it possible that the monitor is too advanced for my laptop?
My thanks in advance,
Lockey

You're welcome! I'm glad aligning both monitors to 60Hz did the trick. Sometimes those little settings can make all the difference. If you run into any more issues, feel free to reach out!

@Lockey25, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check the Basics
- Make sure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct HDMI input.
- Disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable on both ends.
- Test the HDMI cable with another device to rule out a faulty cable.
Extend/duplicate the display
- Press Win + P and select Extend or Duplicate.
- If nothing happens, right-click your desktop, select Display settings, scroll to Multiple Displays, and click Detect.
Check Display Settings
- Right-click Start > Select Device Manager > Expand Display adapters.
- Update all graphics drivers by right-clicking and selecting Update Driver > Search automatically.
- If that doesn’t work, go to HP's official website and manually download the latest drivers for your laptop.
Try a Different Resolution & Refresh Rate
- Go to Display settings > Click on the second screen (if detected).
- Scroll to Display resolution and refresh rate
- Your device has HDMI version 1.4 supporting 1920 ×1200 @ 60Hz
Perform a Hard Reset
- Power off both your laptop and monitor.
- Unplug everything, including power cables.
- Hold the power button on your laptop for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
- Plug everything back in and try again.
BIOS/UEFI Update & Settings Check
- If all else fails, check your laptop’s BIOS settings for any display-related settings.
- Ensure your BIOS and firmware are up to date from HP’s official website.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
