My left hinge broke from just opening my laptop. The computer lives on a desk and never gets moved, never travels, and has never been dropped. The screen is now barely hanging on and there is a brown spot in the lower left corner. I purchased the computer in January of 2022 so the warranty is expired. I bought this because HP has in the past always made good products, this product being made of metal not plastic had me believing this was also a good product. Now after researching my problem to try to find a solution, I am seeing this is a design flaw that has affected many HP customers. Does anybody know if this is even repairable or is my $1000 investment now useless?
HP Please respond with how you intend to address your design flaw to keep HP customers from going to alternate manufacturers. I have four HP computers and would like to believe this is an honest design flaw and not a systemic problem with trying to strengthen the bottom line through cost cutting measures.
