HP ENVY x360 – 13-ag0700ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am using HP Envy x360  13-ag0700ng, and I can't connect any HDMI  device (TV, projector or  monitor)  to my laptop.  I am using  original HP USB-C to Displayport Adapter (PN 831119-001) - it works without any problems with  DP-DP cable and  with devices that use Displayport. At my work I often use hdmi devices so I bought original HP Displayport to HDMI 1.4 adapter ( PN749214-001 Rev.A) and hdmi cable . Laptop  doesn't detect any HDMi devices connected through that adapter and HDMI -HDMI  cable. I tried  few different cables  and even other DP to HDMI adapters with no result. I tried also usb-c to HDMI adapters  but also with no success. I  can connect  only devices through Dsiplayport. To avoid questions - I have no problems with  display settings configuration and I am using  newest drivers available

According to the Product specification on HP website this laptop  has  USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 that supports (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HDMI 2.0, HP Sleep and Charge), so the HDMI connection should be possible.

I am not sure if there is something wrong with usb-c port in my laptop? Maybe I am using wrong  adapter? Thank you in advance for your help.

Finally, I managed to connect Hdmi tv and monitor to my Envy. I've used direct usb-c to HDMI adapter. Laptop detects  external monitor, but it still dosen't display anything. It works only if  I set "expand" in the display settings first than i switch to "duplicate" . Weird but it works. Problem solved i hope.
