Just bought an HP Envy x360 with windows 11 installed. When in tablet mode and it goes to sleep, is there a way to wake it without having to flip it around again? My previous HP Envy x360 had the power button on the side unlike this one...(the reason I purchased a new laptop is because of a broken hinge and I'm afraid this one will have the same issue with more use.
Thank you

This question has been asked a dozen times and HP have no answer for it. The older models (made before 2020) had a physical button on the side of the keyboard, not on the actual keyboard (by the USB ports). No issues with that design, you flip into tablet mode and if and when the screen goes black you just pressed the button and it would wake the screen. The 2020 model which I have lacks this button, you'd automatically assume the power/on/off keyboard button on the keyboard itself would do the same but no, sadly HP never implemented this into the tablet mode. You fold it into tablet and the keyboard is disabled; this is tablet mode, so you don't accidently press any keys (which makes sense), but why on Earth would you disable the power key?? The only way (without adding BT dongles and having devices attached) is to re-fold back into laptop mode and reactivate the screen then flip back into tablet again. I personally think HP can remap the key to not disable in tablet mode - it is a simple fix either through the bios or regedit. Don't get me wrong it is a great laptop but one feature it lacks is actually probably the most useful feature and it is bewildering how they haven't rectified it! I read somewhere that the 2021 model also has the same design as this so the problem may still be a thing even today in 2022.

Since I posted my question, I have found a work around. The laptop wakes up when I touch the touchpad without having to flip the keyboard and screen out of the tablet position. It's been very a very workable solution for me.

I've read many people have had similar success. How did you manage this? I have mine set to wake the PC but once in tablet mode the whole keyboard goes off, nothing i press whether its the fingerprint sensor or trackpad, nothing works. It really is frustrating - i'd be happy if the trackpad or even the fingerprint sensor workaround actually worked for me. I had the same issue in in Windows 10 so i'm not sure it is a Windows issue. I've got the HP Envy x360 2020 model (Ryzen 4700U).
