I am running manjaro linux kde on my HP laptop. I recently got a new battery a few months back in August. It was working fine but. But from a few days I have been experiencing this issue.
What happens is that my laptop randomly shuts down below 40% and won't turn on, until I plug in the charger and only then it boots in. And it starts to charge from 40%.
I searched online and found a calibration method like using laptops until it shuts down then charge it again to 100% and then etc. I did that but again it still shuts down below or at 40%.
Any help is greatly appreciated, i am a college student and i am facing a lot of problems due to this issue.

No, initially the laptop was shipped with windows. Later on I switched the operating system. Additionally I tried to live boot into some other distributeds such as (Ubuntu and Endeavor OS) the same issue persists if the battery goes below 40% the laptop shuts down.
