Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended
HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Few days ago when i opened my laptop, a black dot appeared. When I checked, it was a screen issue. I contacted HP Support via Whatsapp. I was catered by Ranjeet, who is very unhelpful, told me I have a schedule with his supervisor, waited for the scheduled meeting, yet no one reached out to me, so I messaged him again, telling him that no one reached out with the scheduled date and time, he then said he will inform his supervisor who is Revathi, which Revathi later on told me he forgot to call and then scheduled me another call from another team saying the call will be within 24 hours, I asked again and again if the information he gave me and the schedule is true and if no one will reach out he will be responsible, he assured me and said he will take responsibility of the bad customer service. Now came past 24 hours and no one called. I needed to contact support again and here comes another agent named Preetham, who in some case was never helpful at all and just said he again will escalate and someone will call but after some time, no one again ever did. Is this how HP Support really works? Doing all the best they can to avoid providing a service? I wish i never bought anything from this brand at all. Annoying and unprofessional staff from customer service, full of crap without action. Making waste of my time.

Hi @MaryKS1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

Im really sorry you had to go through all of that, left waiting without any follow-up. What you described is incredibly frustrating, and you’re absolutely right to feel disappointed and upset. You reached out for help with a clear issue, and instead you were met with delays, poor communication, and agents who didn’t take responsibility the way they should have. That is not the experience you should have received, and I sincerely apologize for the way things were handled over WhatsApp.

I want to help you get this sorted properly  no more runaround.
To check and validate the issue on your laptop, could you please Share a picture of the black dot / screen problem

Did the dot appear suddenly when you opened the lid?

Was there any impact, heat, or bending of the screen before this happened?

Has the spot grown or changed since the first day?

A clear photo of the display will help confirm whether it’s:

  • a pressure mark,
  • dead/stuck pixels,
  • internal panel damage, or
  • something else entirely.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Best regards,

Deep_World
