Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The pastic case that surrounds the keyboard part of my laptop is starting to pop up and off near the hinge for the screen, in the top, right corner. Previously, the same thing happened on the left side, to another laopp I had. I rarely close this laptop and have never mishandled it, dropped it, or anything that should cause this to happen - and in such a short amount of time. Clearly the hinges HP uses are crap.

I Googled and know now that this is a VERY common issue with HP Laptops. This is my 2nd one where this has happened JUST after the 1 year warrantly expired. I called and they quoted me around $250 to fix. I am not going to spend that on a known issue that has now happened twice and they refuse to fix.

I would like to know if there is a way for ME to fix it? Anyone opened it up and found a good solution? I'm pretty handy so feel like I should try to fix it before it gets worse (my last one is almost unusable now, the hinge is so badly broken).

NEVER AGAIN will I buy an HP laptop!
