HP Laptop - 15-ef1040nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello to support and community of HP. I was wondering if you all could possibly help me with a brightness issue. My HP laptop screen seems to only be increased at the brightest when the charger is plugged in but not unplugged.

I've tried checking my power options but it doesn't have the "enable adaptive brightness" option.

I've also tried updating my Display adapter and Monitor drivers in device manager, but it claims that windows has determined that the best drivers are already installed on my PC.

Anyone think can possibly help me with this? I'm running Windows 10 Home 64 bit, my product is a HP Laptop 15-ef1040nr and the processor is a AMD Athlon Gold 3150U with Radeon Graphics 2.40 GHz with 4.00GB RAM.

Download the latest AMD GPU driver and disable the feature VariBright in AMD Adrenaline settings.

This is a powersaving feature.

Alternatively, you may have these options available (top windows 11, bottom windows 10).

This is without installing AMD software

Since I'm on windows 10, it doesn't seem like I have that "automatically adjust contrast based on the display" option for some reason.

Do you know where I can acquire the latest AMD GPU Driver and how will I be able to tell if it's safe for my PC?
